I'm usually at the art rooms at the college, when I'm not working. They have an extensive array of art supplies to use.

As in, exhibitions and making a wage from my paintings alone. I am perhaps at an advantage, as my mother has experience and connections within the art community so has been able to offer advice on the harsh realities of such a career path.
However, I would like to carve my own path with my own style, rather than rely on connections she has made in the past.

So knowing that I had to deal with that stuff in my other life? It's...not really a happy thought.

Family tradition, mostly. My family's full of military, police - even my brother's a firefighter. Heroes. My aunt and uncle's fine with music as a hobby, but anything more... [He imitates a deeper voice] "You can do whatever you like Elliot, but keep your mind open to what's really important." [He shakes his head and returns to his normal voice] And they've made it very clear what they consider important.
