Yeah.... I think I'll try to hold out and see what happens. I can always just be honest and say that I was worried about telling them, if it comes to that, since I think they'll be equally mad.
[He hums just a little bit, leaning on his elbows.]
Yeah, I was definitely in Japan! Which is weird, right?! It doesn't make sense! Outside of not being able to go to an onsen or public bath, how did I even get tattoos as a high schooler in the first place?!
Ah, so you're figuring out ways to minimise the damage either way. Very wise.
[ How strange. He knows how strict things are on tattoos back home, and the idea of an underage teenager getting a tattoo seems almost impossible. ]
Did you design them yourself? But there's no way you'd be able to actually do the tattoo yourself. I'm not sure. Did you know someone in the tattooing industry...?
I'm not sure.... Maybe I did. Even after talking to Mao and Hinata about them for a while, I haven't remembered anything. But I probably will eventually, right?
[Except his dreams are going to be crushed since THERE'S LITERALLY NO INFORMATION ABOUT HOW HE GOT THEM IN THE WEBCOMIC OR MANGA OR ANYTHING, I'VE LOOKED EVERYWHERE]
It would clear things up for you a little, contextually, if you did, yes.
[ RIP MIYAMURA. ]
... It might depend on how many showed up and where. If it gets to the point that you just can't hide them, then you'll have to come clean. Luckily, things aren't as strict about tattoos here... and you're into the second half of your final year at high school now, correct?
Well, yeah.... I have long sleeves on in a lot of my memories, but I've had a few without them, so I'm pretty sure there aren't any tattoos on my legs or the rest of my arms. But for all I know, the rest of my body could be covered.
[What if he has yakuza back tattoos, WHAT THEN?]
I'm still a junior, but I should be able to keep them hidden in school. It's my parents that worry me.... But I'm going to hope what Hinata said about people getting used to it is true.
I suppose you will find out as time goes on - both in terms of the amount of tattoos, and whether people will just come to see them as normal. I will cross my fingers and hope that it is soon.
[ then he is a BadAss. ]
... And suggest you look into camouflage make up just in case. Better to be prepared, yes? Until you have graduated, and the school system cannot penalise your alternative art creativity.
Do you really think the school could do anything about it? It isn't a private school, so I'm less worried about that than my parents grounding me for life.
... Well, they can't take it off your skin or demand you go through a removal process. Also your parents can't ground you for life, you're legally not under their control once you're 18, I believe.
I made it out alive when I pierced my ears in middle school, so that's something, I guess. But you know my mom.... She'll say turning 18 doesn't change anything. But I still have a year and a few months to go, so I guess we'll see.
I can't wait to show you these in person, though! They're even cooler in real life!
I would argue that what you do with your own body is your choice, but... I'm not sure I would be willing to get into an argument with your mother on your behalf. If I am to be entirely honest.
I will look forward to seeing them! From what little I saw there, it does seem like the other you had good taste in body art.

What'll I do if any more show up?

But I'll show you tomorrow, since I think we share a shift! I'll see you then.
