[Truth be told, Haru hadn't wanted to move that much anyway. She'd pulled over because it just wasn't safe to drive anymore, not when she couldn't see the road very well due to tears. She'd calmed down some, but getting back on the moped meant effort.
Heck, she didn't even know where she was going for a while. She just wanted to drive, get away from... all this.
But with Yusuke's text, Haru at least stands up, wipes at her face, takes Lavande's handles, and starts to walk to the road he indicated, keeping her head down. If anyone else it out at this time at night, she doesn't want to draw too much attention.]
[ It wouldn't matter much, as she won't be waiting long. Yusuke's legs are long, and his need to find Haru as quickly as possible means he's working them ridiculously quickly to get to where he needs to be.
As soon as he gets to the agreed meeting place, he spots Haru, and doesn't even slow down. He just barrels towards Haru and pauses long enough to get her in a Major Hug Situation. ]
[You know, Haru thought she'd cried out everything she had before she texted Yusuke. It sure felt like there was nothing else to give once she was done.
But when she sees him running towards her, she just feels them start up again. She lets go of Lavande's handles and, even though she's so protective of her moped, she doesn't care where it comes to a stop. She doesn't even know why just seeing him's making her cry again, but she finds herself taking in a harsh, hiccuping breath and squeezing her eyes shut just as he hugs her.
And god, that solid warmth is like a rock in this storm she's in. She holds him tight, as if he's the only thing keeping her from being lost again, and buries her face in his shoulder as she tries to get a hold of herself again. Yusuke's one of the very few whom she doesn't mind crying in front of, but she's already got a low opinion of herself at the moment, and this is just making it worse.]
[ it's easy enough to fall into a careful swaying motion, as haru's shoulders shake with tears. it doesn't take a degree too figure out what had happened - and while he's not exactly willing to believe haru's mother had flat out disowned her or yelled her out of the house, he's guessing it didn't go as positively as haru had hoped. ]
Come on. Elliot's been cooking - the fridge is full.
[ she's certainly not wandering the streets all night?? ]
[It's muffled against him, and it's not a no, but still. Eating is about the last thing on her mind right now. She just wants to hide away somewhere until she's inevitably brought back to the hell that is Respatrum.]
[Haru doesn't vocalize her agreement, but does nod against him. As much as she can, at least. She thought she wanted to be alone, but the moment Yusuke hugged her, Haru knew that wasn't the case. She didn't want to be alone at all, not in this moment she feared the most.]
A-Are they home?
[His roommates, she means. While she doesn't want to be alone, that doesn't mean she wants everyone to see the crying mess she is right now.]
[She... feels a little bad, running Akira off if he's taking the room. But.]
Okay.
[Akira's a close friend of hers, but Yusuke's practically family. The tattoo they share is their proof of that.]
I'll... have to apologize, if he has to leave. But I think I'm ready to go.
[Only thinks, because she doesn't really want to leave this embrace. And there's no way she's leaving Lavande behind, out in the open for anyone to take.]
He'll be alright, I'm sure. You wouldn't have to explain.
[ At the very least, he'll find a way to make it clear the need for privacy and calm for a while without sharing Haru's secrets with the entire house. ]
Okay. Here-- [ He keeps an arm wrapped around Haru's shoulder, and puts one hang on Lavande's handlebars. ] -- Let's go.
[She'll have to explain sometime, for sure. Haru's resolved to tell everyone about herself, starting with her mother, and just because that didn't work out as well as she hoped doesn't mean her resolve has crumbled. It just needs a bit of time to strengthen again.
She takes a moment to see what Yusuke's doing, and... she does crack a smile, albeit a small one, at the fact that he knows how much she cares about her moped and has taken it into consideration. Still, the whole situation makes that smile fade soon after, and she lets out a heavy sigh as she wraps one arm around his waist, the other holding Lavande's handlebars as well, just so that he doesn't have to do all the work.]
Alright.
[And away they go. She's... not really sure how far the house is, but she doesn't feel like filling the silence right now.]
[ Sometime. But not right now, if she's not ready to right now, then there's no urge, force or need to.
He squeezes the arm around her slightly as they walk. It's cold, and quiet, but not inhospitable just because they aren't talking. It's comfortable and familiar, and breaking it feels wrong.
It's not far to his home from here - a little longer, now he's not running, but still a reasonable distance. Enough that it feels like moments before he's digging through his pockets for his house keys, having to let go of Haru and the moped at the same time. It won't take him long to get the door open, letting out a welcoming beam of light and warmth from the interior. ]
[When Yusuke lets go, Haru decides to bring her moped to its designated area, where it always goes when she comes here. When she returns to his side, the door opens, and the light inside is warm and welcoming. It's like a second home, and it is.
But it makes her think of her first home. Her mother, her cats, her garden, her flowers. Her mother hasn't kicked her out or anything, but the idea is still there deep inside. Yusuke had seen the nightmare she had, after all. Haru keeps teetering on the edge of giving in to that fear or holding steadfastly on to the thought that her mother really does just need time, that they can talk later.
She takes in a hitched breath and shuts her eyes tight, the burning sensation of tears returning behind them. One hand covers her eyes, the other reaches to hold Yusuke's hand.]
[ It's like an automatic reaction to take Haru's hand and squeeze it tightly. ]
There isn't anything to apologise for. Are you okay to go inside, or do you need a moment?
[ The house is still there. It'll remain, as will the warmth and familiarity, until she wants to go in and comfort herself there. Even if she doesn't, it's there. ]
[She hates how there's a small part of her that feels like she deserves to be out here. She knows it's wrong, that it's just a product of all her worries and fears, but it rings loud in her head. You let her down, you disappointed her, why couldn't you just be normal?
It's wrong, it's wrong, and Haru knows it. It's because of that, and the fact that she doesn't want Yusuke to be stuck out here with her, that she nods, though she has to take a moment to actually find her voice again.]
