Why would they be nervous about you living together? I would have thought that was a testimony to how well you get along. And you are hardly irresponsible...
[ He dips his brush in the water jar, swilling it around until the dark paint has lifted from the bristles. ]
They make an investment for the future and you have “landlords” you can trust and know you will have a secure and comfortable living space. It’s quite wise in a way.
Well, I am. [She pauses, eyes brighter than normal.]
Thank you, Yusuke, for actually being supportive. I've heard so many pessimistic comments about the risks of dating your best friend...but I thought hard about this!
Well... of course there are risks. But it is not as though you are known for acting irrationally.
[ He dips his brush into paints the shade and tone of Yukiko’s kimono, and adds them to the palette, carefully mixing them. ]
If it is something you want to try, then try you should. Technically there are risks if you meet someone new as well - what if they’re dangerous? Or are a secret billionaire? Or are part of the mafia? You don’t know these things when you meet them, but if you like the person enough you accept that surprises and hardships will come. It’s the same with people you know.

[ In theory. ]
Yes. He may have felt an obligation to acknowledge it, I suppose.

[And that's something.]
How is Magatus? I haven't been, yet.

...
It's cold. Very cold. Hopefully less full of wolves now though.
no subject
[Honestly, they had expected it.]
Did you have to fight wolves, though?
[Yeah she just sort of rambled into that.]
no subject
[ ... Oh! Oh. ]
That is good to hear. And congratulations, when did this occur?
no subject
Um. Her birthday, in late January. We haven't told a lot of people though.

[ He's switching up paints now, from flesh to the brighter tones of her kimono. ]

[Her parents? weirdly supportive. Plus they trust their daughter, and Eleanor.]

[ Even with the topic of unsupervised, easy to get s-e-x in the equation. Yusuke, pls. ]
Were they concerned about you having roommates in general as well?
no subject
Yes...a little. That's why they bought the condo we're living in. So I could have my pick, and they'll have property when I graduate.

[It's also something only the wealthy could do, but it is a good idea.]
I don't have to worry about troublesome landlords, bad dormmates, any of that. And Eleanor gets a free place to stay, which helps her save money.
no subject
[ Wow. He’s slightly jealous. ]
But of course, it’s the property that is something of a high commodity nowadays, I feel. Owning a home is expensive.
[ What’s with this grandpa talk, holy heck. ]
The main thing though, of course, is that you are happy with your situation and relationship though.

Well, I am. [She pauses, eyes brighter than normal.]

[Yukiko snorts, unable to keep the laugh from her voice.]
Like the phantom thieves. Yes I suppose that's true. Any one of us could be just that.
no subject
[ He sounds amused.
But the joke is on him, really, remember this when he finds out about his boyfriend's estranged family.]I wouldn't necessarily say the thieves were in the same category as mafia.

[One's good but Extra. One's bad.]
How's the painting going?
no subject
... Hm.
[ Yusuke takes a step back to examine the canvas. Well, he'd say, but... ]
Are you tiring? I'm at a point where I can stop and pick up detailing later.

[She's interested to see how it turns out.]

[ He's not a slave driver, after all. ]
