Yeah. All Round Communication... I forget the rest.
[It was written down in that notebook but why bother memorizing tech terms like that? He only did that for music]
I know, but... [He uses his finger to point out the "THORS MILITARY ACADEMY" on the front] Haha, it just feels a little weird to be hauling around school gear for a school I don't really remember attending, you know? It's like wearing someone else's letter jacket....
[Plus it'd be nice not to get reminded every time he pulled it out of his pocket that his other life got shipped off to a military school]
How odd. A communicator device... so it is a phone, essentially.
[He turns it over in his hands thoughtfully. And then he moves to his desk and picks up a sheet of paper and pencil, setting down the device and placing the paper on top of it.]
I see. Then if there is nothing you wish to save of the cover, then...
[He quickly draws around the device, before picking it back up and returning it to Elliot.]
Perhaps I could focus a cluster of stars over the academy logo to change the meaning of it?
Yes. Paint will cover it well enough, but the logo is in a good focal point. It could be replaced with something else, especially if the logo is something you don't like or find uncomfortable. Your perception changes from remembering it as "the place the logo was" to "the place where a specific constellation is", if you see my meaning.
Yeah, see- [He'll open up the phone, revealing the inside of the ARCUS. Most of the slots are sealed, but there's a glowing blue gray gem in the center] The quartz in there allows me to cast some spells, but it only works if it's in the ARCUS.
[So. Magic phone]
Oh...I do! That'd actually really help a lot, I think.
[What the heckity, Elliot? Just get a person, they channel shit for you.]
Are there any constellations you find most aesthetically pleasing, or that are important to your personally? If you have one you like, I will make it the center piece.
[How rude. Goemon is colourful and beautiful, he'll fight you.]
Hmm... I could incorporate it, certainly. It's a very simple constellation, however. Perhaps you could do a search and let me know which ones you find the most aesthetically pleasing?
I should be able to incorporate multiple ones, so I can use the one related to your star sign as well as others.
I would suggest a more complex one for the centre, and I should be able to fit a couple of simpler ones there as well. Once I know thenones you like, I can plot it out a little clearer.
[Look it's easier to pick out stuff for your friends than yourself when you got no real self-esteem okay]
R-Right, sorry. [Scroll scroll. Most of these are either way too small, are kinda lame, or have really disturbing origins. The greek gods really need to control that thirst of theirs...]
...What about Hydra? He's pretty big. [And you know, water thing that can regenerate. Pretty fitting - even if he doubts he can regrow a head.]
If you like. Keep in mind the composition - Hydra is long and slender, and would look elegant. However, if you wanted a better focal point a more clustered one may balance well later.
The choice is yours, but it is worth considering all things.
[He pauses, scrolling through the list one more, and clearly thinking about it.]
I think...Hydra would be the best. My magic's water based, so a water serpent would be pretty fitting. And there's that whole regeneration thing, so that makes it even more fitting...

[A few moments later, there's a knock on Yusuke's door. Unsurprisingly its Elliot, headphones around his neck and ARCUS unit in his hands]
no subject
Hello. That is the not-phone you were talking about?
no subject
Yeah. It's called an ARCUS - it helps me do magic.
[He'll hold it out for Yusuke]
But it looks pretty much like a large flip-phone, don't you think?
no subject
[He'll take it! ... Yeah, he can definitely work with this.]
It has a similar design. Is there a reason you want the customisation? It seems to have an elegant design already.

[Where the heck is the dial pad for instance. It makes no sense.
He'll stand there while Yusuke draws, taking back the ARCUS when it's handed back]
Oh! That could be nice! So a bunch of stars instead of the name?
no subject
[Pardon?]
Yes. Paint will cover it well enough, but the logo is in a good focal point. It could be replaced with something else, especially if the logo is something you don't like or find uncomfortable. It acts a conduit for your abilities?
[What the heckity, Elliot? Just get a person, they channel shit for you.]

[No. He don't need your goth pokemon. He's got materia-- i mean quartz]
Um...Well, I'm a Cancer? [Harsh] H-Honestly I don't know much about the constellations. You don't really see them in Queens...
no subject

Oh, okay. I can look up constellations! [Pocketing the ARCUS to pull out his real phone] About how many would fit on there?
no subject
I would suggest a more complex one for the centre, and I should be able to fit a couple of simpler ones there as well. Once I know thenones you like, I can plot it out a little clearer.

[He'll start googling on his phone for a list of constellations, leaning against the wall as he does so]
Well...Lyra the harp is a pretty obvious choice, haha. [scroll scroll] Aw, there's an easel one! That'd be perfect for you!
[Easily distracted what]
no subject
You should perhaps focus on the constellations that appeal to you, rather than to me.

Also, it does look pretty cool.

[He's making a note! And sketching it out in pride of place in the centre of the outline he made.]
Symbolic, and cool. Both are important factors.
no subject
[Thumbs up!!]
So what's your rate?
no subject
This shouldn't take too long. Between $40-60 would be fair usually, but I'm happy to discount it as you keep providing food for me.
no subject
Nuh-uh, no discounts. Your art deserves the full value. I'll pay $60!
no subject
... $50. [Elliot you literally give him food, which keeps him alive???] At most.
no subject
....$55? And some cookies.
