[That sounds delightful. She'll even pay for the ice cream just for you.]
It really is beautiful! ♥ I got to see it with a friend, and he said something about it that made me think of you. He said it was like a painting, and it really was! It's like the ocean is a big canvas, and the sun is a brush that slowly adds colors to it as it sets.
That's very flattering. But you have a way with words that is natural and pleasant to listen to, you should explore what you can do with that through other topics as well.
[Friend-dates are dates. It's not their fault if other people get the wrong idea.]
Middle ground, 3:30? I agree it would be good to talk about some of these changes. They are difficult to wrap my head around.
[Once it gets closer to that time, Haru texts Yusuke to let him know that she's heading his way, and sure enough, at around 3:30, probably a little earlier if we're honest, Haru comes knocking at his door. She's excited! If nervous. The latter isn't his fault at all, but just this whole... app thing.]
[She will have barely finished knocking before Yusuke has opened the door - seems he was ready and waiting for her.]
Hello, Haru.
[It's... almost a little weird seeing her? Last time he saw her face to face, neither of them knew what retrospec, or that horses were a real thing. And colours existed, untouched and as they should be. Neither of them have changed individually, but something feels permanently changed in general.
It's settling to see her again. And he wastes no time in leaning down to wrap her up in a hug - incoming!!]
[It's the same for her, that exact feeling. That's the reason for her nerves. It's like something shifted in their vision of the world, and all at once at that. Stepping into something like that, especially against one's will, is definitely something to be nervous about.
But Yusuke's always had a calming effect on her, and this time is no less different. Haru already feels a sense of relief when he opens the door, but that increases twofold when he leans down to hug her. It's okay now; the world is shifted, but it's shifted for the both of them, and they can handle it together.
She returns that hug, gratefully even, while standing on her toes so that he doesn't have to lean so much. Not for the first time, Haru thanks her lucky stars that Yusuke's in her life.]
[She does, of course, take his arm with both of her own, and allows him to lead the way even though she knows it already. She'll be the one taking the lead once they get closer to her moped, however.]
How about A Good Bean? Oh, or Catmosphere Cafe? We can find a dessert shop later, then go riding out towards the beach.
[Now that they're at the moped, she hands Yusuke a spare helmet she brought along. Barring running away from monsters, Haru's all about safety first. Once he takes the helmet, Haru steps over the seat of the moped, though she doesn't sit down just yet, and puts on her own purple helmet.]
I'll pay for this one. I sold a good amount last Saturday, so don't worry about the cost.
[Yusuke's focused on strapping the helmet down, but does pause a little at Haru's insistence of paying for lunch.]
Are you sure? I've received my wages recently as well, so [once he's bought new canvases, some new paints and the pre-requisite pencil and sketch book sets for class] I can afford to pay my share.
[He's buying the ice cream though. She can actually fight him on that one.]
[Yeah, Yusuke, she knows that first day of class is going to wreck your wallet. Rather than mention that, though, Haru sits herself down and starts the engine to the moped, just waiting for Yusuke to get settled.]
It's alright, I'm sure! You can pay for it next time.
[Which, "next time" could always be for ice cream if he wanted to take that route. It'd be sneaky.]
[RIP his wallet and his money. But at least he will have lots of shiny art stuff.]
... [SQUINTS.] If you're sure... I will hold you to that.
[No, he's doing this legit!! They'll go and get proper food and she can tell him all about this thing for Minako she'll have by that point in recolle canon.]
[Haru just answers him with a smile, and once Yusuke's settled behind her and properly holding on, Haru accelerates, then heads off to the buffet.
As usual, Yusuke ate plenty and snacked on food even as they finished up and spoke about what all they learned about this. How they feel, what lies ahead for them... At least they've got each other. No matter what happens, now that they're both aware, there's a renewed promise in Haru's heart to stay by his side. Things are going to get crazy and strange from now on, after all.
Though Haru protested, Yusuke did end up being the one to pay for ice cream. At least that part wasn't as expensive as the buffet, so it's not so bad. Once they got the ice cream, they headed for the beach, as sunset was close to starting. With strawberries and cream ice cream in hand, Haru walks along the shoreline with her taller friend, eyes on the gray sea as the sun sets towards it.]
[Food and a full belly is a pleasant feeling. Yusuke was far too prone to forgetting that feeling in favour of... well. Everything else. But it was nice to remember, and indulge every now and again. Especially when someone else was insistent on treating him.
Also the joy of.. sharing worries with a friend. Or more specifically, with Haru. There's something very cathartic about talking with someone going through the same experiences as him - no worrying about saying something stupid, getting to share experiences and discussions that had been had with other people.
His choice of ice cream for the beach walk is a simple vanilla. He doesn't want to overwhelm his senses by focusing on taste over vision.]
It's a little silvery. I imagine light reflecting off it at midday or midnight would be hauntingly beautiful.
[Meanwhile, Haru loves stronger and varied flavors, even if it means focusing on that over the other senses. She lets out a "mmm" in response, as she took a bit of said ice cream while he gave his answer, and takes a moment to enjoy the taste before giving her own.]
I wasn't here that late, but I did see how the moon looked over the ocean. It's particularly silvery then... and you're right, it's a haunting sort of beautiful.
[And you know, if he wants to stay out here until midnight to see how that looks, Haru doesn't mind... though she's sure to be tired by then. Early riser and all.]
[He chases an errant drop of ice cream with his tongue, staring thoughtfully out at the grey expanse of the ocean. It is beautiful - always beautiful. But strange. Similar, but like walking into a room you know inside out and finding someone has moved the furniture one inch to the left. Familiar, yet off.]
Only ... grey at night, instead of a deep navy. Still, I would like to paint it someday. If only for memories once we return the sky to its usual shade.
[No, he's not going to make her stay up until midnight while he paints the ocean. He'll come back another time.]

Oh, I see. I will keep this in mind if any more of these occur - but don't worry, I received the full message.
I would love to. What sort of time's most convenient for you?
no subject
Thank goodness. (=A=);;;
Maybe 7 pm? Then we can arrive before the sun sets. :)
no subject
That sounds lovely. I'd like to see how the sun sets on a non-blue ocean...

I wanted you to see it as soon as possible!

That's quite the endorsement. And a very poetic way of describing it. Have you considered poetry as a hobby?
I'll definitely look forward to it. What time is convenient for you?
no subject
Do you think I should try it? I have to admit, any poetry I say about art is inspired by you.
[This is why people wonder if they're dating tbh.]
Hmm, maybe 3 or 4? We can get lunch together, maybe discuss what's going on?

I've never thought of that before... Well, maybe I will try it! I'll see what I can make, and you can review it later. How does that sound?
That sounds perfect. :D I'll pick you up at 3:30!

I will see you then!

Once the hug has played out, he lets go of Haru just long enough to reach back into the house and grab a satchel.]
Ready to go when you are. Did you have anywhere you'd like to go in particular for lunch?
[He's shutting the door behind him as he speaks, before offering her an arm.]

How about A Good Bean? Oh, or Catmosphere Cafe? We can find a dessert shop later, then go riding out towards the beach.
no subject
I... hm. I hadn't thought of where would be best to go. Good Bean? Or did want something more substantial food wise?
no subject
Then maybe a buffet place? We can get as much as we want to eat for a set price!
[She made some good earnings last Saturday, she can afford to give them both a good meal.]
There's one near a frozen yogurt parlor. Would you like to go there?
no subject
What a good idea. A set price and limitless food opportunities... it sounds like a luxurious experience.
[That's a yes.]

Then that's where we'll go! Here:
