It's not so bad. You're usually specialising in something you have an interest in, so the intense concentration feels less of a chore.
[ ... ]
Or it does to me.
[ Hm. ]
That sounds like Akira. He's very good at worrying about everyone else, and letting himself continue on independently... but perhaps I am not being fair. He has been trying recently.
It always seems like he's trying his best. I haven't known him for very long though.
[That makes a lot of sense. Nanashi can only imagine what kind of struggles they go through. He doesn't even know what he wants to be when he grows up...so the idea of actually enjoying your work didn't cross his mind. ]
We were friends for about a month or so. Do you enjoy his company?
[Nanashi can say he does but not sure about Yusuke.]
... In his own way. [ A fifteen year old doesn't need to know about the personal grievances Yusuke has had with him recently, justified but... not friendship breaking and all out of concern for his friend. ]
Yes. I chose to live with him, after all, so... it would be difficult if I disliked him.
No. It would be somewhat hypocritical of me if I did.
[ ... ]
Yes, well. He does continue to display some self-sacrificing habits, but ... we did have a good talk with him earlier in the month. I hope some of it sunk in.
[Nanashi stretches his hand outwards and a blueish magic circle forms under them. A demonic bird appears before Yusuke a moment after. It might remind him of persona summoning. ]
[ Yusuke's eyes go a little wide - it is similar, enough to surprise him, but there are more than enough differences to tell him this isn't the same as a Persona summoning.
But there's no fear as he approaches. ]
Oh, a bird. Does it have a specific element?
[ Like Goemon, and ice. Or Ann's Carmen and her fire powers. ]
Yes, that would be the comparison I would draw. Personas tend to have specialised elements though, as well as affinities for magic or physical abilities.
[ Goemon is a fighter, primarily. But can still use ice attacks. He can tell he difference in strength between the two though - what Goemon is more proficient in. ]

... How did you meet him?
no subject
[It's not a good story! Nanashi thought he found a dead man. No joke. ]
He was exhausted from everything that was going on. So I offered him some water and snacks.
[He's thinking back on it and their roles have changed. Now he's the one getting help. ]
no subject
Was this towards the beginning of this month?
[ MmmmmmMMMM. Hmm. He can't get mad at Akira for something he's already been mad at him for, but... ]
no subject
[That was a bad move!!]
You're probably not going to believe me when I say this. I had my demon friend look after him for a while.
[Caladrius used a few healing spells on Akira before they parted ways. ]
no subject
[ Personas, yo. ]
I'm not sure I'd quite call them demons, but I am aware of something similar.
Thank you for keeping an eye on him though. He kept vanishing towards the beginning of the month...

[Nanashi shakes his head at that.]
It's fine. Kinda figured that he was in some trouble. Akira's doing lot better now so it's okay.

[Welp. It's not his place to ask for too much info, so Nanashi leaves it at that. ]
Do you want to meet my demon friend? I can call him here.
[Summoning a demon doesn't take a whole lot of effort. Yusuke might be interested in meeting Caladrius for all he knows. Won't hurt to ask. ]
no subject
[ ... Oh. ]
Yes?
[ Is it like summoning a Persona, he can't help but wonder. ] I would like to see him.

This is Caladrius.
[It looks pretty harmless for a demon. ]
Come say hi!

[He can read up information on his demons via smartphone. Thanks SMT.]
I'm not too sure what his deal is. Akira mentioned that my demons were similar to Persona.
[Seems like a lot of people are persona users so he mentions it as if it were a common thing.]

[ Goemon is a fighter, primarily. But can still use ice attacks. He can tell he difference in strength between the two though - what Goemon is more proficient in. ]

[Do they just find out eventually or is it knowledge that's already there? ]
They don't tell you these things, do they?
[He doesn't get how Personas completely work. ]
no subject
[ IT'S SAID KINDA DEADPAN. ]
Also logic. If you have a fire based Persona, it will likely be weak to ice.
no subject
[Ouch. ]
My demon friend here is weak to dark magic and gun attacks. I guess it must be because he's a bird.
[You could easily blow a bird out of the sky with bullets.]
no subject
[ Hmm. That makes sense. ]
Strange, but logical, these weaknesses.
